Greek ResourcesBooks for reference and for further studyThis is a list of reference books, grammars, dictionaries, and other books which I have found useful, and which students might consider buying for their personal libraries if they wish to continue reading and studying Greek texts. A couple of good book suppliers are Christian Book Distributors (CBD) and Great Christian Books GCB. I will be adding to the list from time to time. Langenscheidt's Pocket Greek Dictionary by Dr. Karl Feyerabend, Langensheidt Publishers, 46-35 54th Road, Maspeth, NY 11378, ISBN 0-88729-081-7. including all the words which occur in the Greek New Testament and the standard Greek classical authors. The Oxford Greek Minidictionary, Oxford University Press, ISBN 0-19-860546-3 This is for modern Greek only, Greek-English and English-Greek in one pocket-sized book. A Grammatical Analysis of the Greek New Testament by Max Zerwick and Mary Grosvenor, revised edition in one volume, Biblical Institute Press, Pontifical Biblical Institute, Scripta Pontificii Instituti Biblici, 107, Rome. This is the little green book which I use for reference - it also gives some interesting etymological background to words. Greek Enchiridion - "A Concise Handbook of Grammar for Translation and Exegesis", by William G. MacDonald, Hendrickson Publishers, PO Box 3473, Peabody, Massachusetts 01961-3473, ISBN 0-913573-18-3. This is often also available from CBD
