Acts

The Book of the "Acts of the Apostles" is a continuation of the Gospel of Luke (compare Acts 1:1-2 with Luke 1:1-4), and was probably written around AD 63. before the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple by the Romans in AD 70.

  • Acts 3:1 - 7:60 : The Church in Jerusalem - persecution begins
  • Acts, chapter 8 : Christianity is brought to the Samaritans and the Ethiopians
  • Acts 9:1-31 : the Conversion of Paul
  • Acts 9:32 - 11:18 : the first Gentile Christians
  • Acts 11:19-30 : The Church in Antioch
  • Acts, chapter 12 : Jerusalem - martyrdom of James; imprisonment of Peter
  • Acts 13:1 - 14:28 : Paul's first Missionary Journey
  • Acts 15:1-29 : The First Ecumenical Council, in Jerusalem
  • Acts 15:30 - 18:22 : Paul's second Missionary Journey
  • Acts 18:23 - 19:41 : Paul's third Missionary Journey
  • Acts 20:1 - 26:32 : Paul in Jerusalem and Caesarea
  • Acts 27:1 - 28:31 : Paul is sent for trial in Rome
