This Week's Assignment : Six Essays
Because this is a rather long assignment, and deals with a wide variety of material, I have decided not to set an assignment on Chapters 16 and 17.
For some of these you may have to consult sources beyond the textbook
- Discuss the various ways in which Christians dealt with Hitler's Fascist (Nazi) Regime. Your answer should include reference to Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Martin Niemöller, Karl Barth, and Corrie ten Boom
- Discuss the evangelical movements of the twentieth century. Your answer should include reference to Dwight L. Moody, Billy Sunday, and Billy Graham
- Discuss the Pentecostal and Charismatic movements of the twentieth century. Your answer should include reference to Charles Parham, William Seymour, the Azusa Street awakening, the formation of the Church of God and the Assemblies of God, Dennis Bennett, and David Wilkerson
- Discuss the Renewal movements of the twentieth century, with reference to Cursillo, Walk to Emmaus, and the Alpha Course
- Discuss some of the reports of appearances of the Virgin Mary. Your answer should include reference to the Virgin of Guadalupe, Bernadette Sourbirous and Lourdes, Fatima, and Medugorje
- Discuss some of the Roman Catholic leaders of the work for social justice and ministry to the poor. Your answer should include reference to Helder Camara, Oscar Romero, and Mother Teresa
Remember to cite your sources
Use MSWord or a text editor such as Notepad to prepare and save your work, then submit it as one document to Turnitin via the Blackboard link
