REL 491 - The Book of Acts, and the Early Christian Church

InterNet Links for Week 2

InterNet Resources

You do not have to download and read all these resources.
Visit the various sites, and copy only what you feel you need for your studies.

Do not try to download and read all the Commentaries, but browse through them and download any you want to keep to help you with your studies. The Links will take you to chapter 6. In most cases, there are links on that page which will lead you to the other chapters.

From the Bible Hub site

If the Bible Hub site goes down, or is unstable, most of the commentaries can also be found on the Study Light org. site, along with other Bible helps, including
Bridgeway Commentary on Acts
Bullinger's Companion Bible Notes

Hole's Commentary on Acts
Kretzmann's Commentary on Acts
McGarvey's Original Commentary on Acts
Dr. J. Vernon McGee's "Thru the Bible" - Acts

ewordtoday,
       Acts, chapter 6

Other Resources

There is at least one site on the InterNet that states "Paul was educated by his mother until the age of five. From age five to ten he studied with his father in the Hebrew scriptures and traditional writings". Though this statement may be close to the truth, there is no proof of it, either in the Bible, or in other sources. Sites which make categorical statements without giving the evidence for them should be treated with caution.
The Wikipedia entries for St. Paul are occasionally edited by someone with an anti-Christian agenda - you may find statements which look as if they are backed up by scholarship, but in reality they are biased. Do not use Wikipedia as a primary source.

Other useful articles can be found by using the Topics as search words in Search Engines such as GoodSearch
