RELG 330 - History of ChristianityCourse NotesChapter 42Page 612 - Korea - According to the Southern Center for International Studies (Atlanta, GA), in 2005 South Korea was 49% Christian, 47% Buddhist, 3% Confucian, less than 1% Chandogyo. For North Korea the annotation is "Religious activities almost non-existent". North Korea is the only country in the world to be officially atheistic. Yoido Full Gospel Church in Seoul, South Korea, is probably the largest Christian congregation in the world. This church was founded by pastor David Paul Yonggi Cho, who was born in 1936, and is still active (though semi-retired) as a pastor at the church.
