- p.18 - eye contact
- Jane Goodall says that she can find a soul by looking into a creature's eyes. I would interpret this as seeing a mind rather than a soul. It is also one of the first steps to building a relationship.
- p.46 - axioms
- An axiom is a premise or starting point for reasoning. It is a premise which is so evident that it is universally accepted as true.
In Mathematics, an axiom is any mathematical statement that serves as a starting point from which other statements are logically derived. Axioms cannot be derived by deduction, nor are they demonstrable by mathematical proofs, simply because they are starting points; there is nothing else from which they logically follow.
In Logic, axioms are usually statements that are taken to be universally true
- p.46 - Pythagoras' Theorem
- For a right-angled Triangle, the square on the hypotenuse (the long side opposite the right angle) is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides. For elucidation, you may use
