These Books were probably written during the second and first centuries BC, to encourage the Jews, particularly those of the Diaspora, to resist Hellenism and to remain faithful even under persecution from the Seleucids. Other Books belonging to this period are 1 & 2 Esdras, the additions to Daniel, 1 & 2 Maccabees, and probably the Prayer of Manasseh

Thread : Whom would you most like to have been : The writer of 'The Wisdom of Solomon', the writer of 'Ecclesiasticus', Sarah (the daughter of Raguel), or Judith ?
Choose whom you would most like to have been, write an account of his/her life, and say why you chose him/her rather than any of the others.

EIGHTHER
Write a first-person account of the story of Tobit, as if you were Tobias telling the story to his grandchildren
OR
Write a first-person account of the story of Judith, as if you were her maid telling the story to the children of Bethuliah.
Write in your own words, as if you were the specified character in the story.
If you chose Sarah (the daughter of Raguel) for the Discussion Board, you may not choose the story of Tobit for your Essay.
If you chose Judith for the Discussion Board, you may not choose the story of Judith for your Essay.
Use MSWord or a text editor such as Notepad to prepare and save your work, then submit it to the relevant SafeAssign box on the BlackBoard site for the course.
