Report 4 : The Gospel according to St. Luke

  1. Write an account of the events described in Luke, chapter 1, from the view-point of Elisabeth. Write as if you were Elisabeth, telling the story to one of her neighbours.
  2. Write an account of the events described in Luke, chapter 2, from the view-point of Mary. Write as if you were Mary, telling the story to Luke many years later.
  3. Write an account of the events described in Luke 3:1-22 from the view-point of one of John the Baptist's disciples. Write as if you were telling the story to one of your friends who had not been there
  4. From Luke, chapter 4, compare and contrast the treatment of Jesus by the people of Nazareth and the people of Capernaum
  5. Write an account of the events described in Luke, chapter 5, from the view-point of Simon (Peter). Write as if you were Simon, telling your family back in Capernaum
  6. Compare and contrast the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew, chapters 5-7) with the Sermon on the Plain (Luke 6:20-49)
  7. Write an account of the events described in Luke 7:36-50, from the view-point of the woman. Write as if you were telling the story to one of your friends
  8. According to Jesus' disciples, whom did other people say that Jesus is
  9. Whom did Peter say that Jesus is
  10. Which disciples did Jesus take up to the mountain where He was transfigured. Who else appeared there, and what did they talk with Jesus about.
  11. Write an account of the events and teaching described in Luke, chapter 10, from the view-point of one of Jesus' disciples. Write as if you were writing a letter to your family back home
  12. Would you prefer to be Mary, or Martha? Give a reason for your choice
  13. In Luke, chapter 11, what did Jesus say to encourage us to keep praying?
  14. Re-tell the parable of the prodigal son, using a modern setting
  15. Write an account of Jesus' meeting with Zacchaeus, from the view-point of Zacchaeus. Write as if you were Zacchaeus, telling the story to one of your drinking buddies
  16. What did Jesus say when his disciples tried to stop children coming to Him?
  17. Write out the words Jesus used when blessing the bread and the wine at the Last Supper. (Luke 22:19-20)
  18. Write out the words of Jesus' prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane
  19. Write an account of the events described in Luke, chapter 23, from the view-point of Joseph of Arimathea. Write as if you were Joseph of Arimathea, telling the story to Luke several years later.
  20. Write an account of the events described in Luke, chapter 24, from the view-point of Cleophas. Write as if you were telling the story to your grandchildren.
