Report 5 : The Gospel according to St. John

  10. Write an account of the events described in John, 11:1 - 12:8, from the view-point of Martha. Write as if you were Martha, telling the story to one of her friends.
  11. Write an account of the Last Supper as recounted by John (chapters 13-17). How does it differ from the other Gospel accounts.
  12. Write an account of the events described in John 18:28-19:42, from the view-point of Pilate. Write as if you were Pilate, writing his memoirs
  13. Write an account of the events described in John 20:1-18, from the view-point of Mary Magdalene. Write as if you were Mary, telling the story to her friends
  14. Write an account of the events described in John 20:19-31, from the view-point of Thomas. Write as if you were telling the story to your grandchildren.
  15. Write an account of the events described in John, chapter 21, from the view-point of Nathanael. Write as if you were Nathanael, telling the story to a group of new Christians.
  16. According to the text-book, what was the probable date for the writing of John's Gospel
  17. Throughout this Gospel, John records several of Jesus' statements which begin "I AM". Using these passages, write notes for a lesson or sermon on the passages. What points would you want to make? see also the Course Notes on John
