InterNet Resources
  • Go here for the page of links to InterNet Resources
  • You should look at the InterNet Resources for each week. Some of the links lead to one WebPage, others link to Sites which have more than one Page - in that case, it is good to investigate the whole WebSite.

Study Questions

Prepare an answer sheet for yourself, in which you make notes on these topics. Then you may use it, along with the textbook and the course notes, to answer the questions on the Test, and to formulate a thread for the Discussion Board.

  1. Biblical Archaeology as a branch of archaeology
  2. Biblical Archaeology for Illumination
  3. Biblical Archaeology for Confirmation
  4. The Science of Archaeology
  5. Stratigraphy
  6. Excavation Methods
  7. Archaeological Field Procedures
  8. Archaeological sites in Israel (see the Links page)

Discussion Board 4

Thread :
Using the information about digs from their Web Sites (given in the InterNet resources) or from any other dig in the Near East which you have read about, choose a dig where you would like to work, then write about it. Why did you choose that dig? What do you think you might do there? What do you hope you might find? What might be some of the conditions and dangers of working on that dig?

Replies to 2 of your classmates' threads : If possible, choose Threads which deal with different digs.

Test on Module 4

Go to the Test Section of the course on Canvas, and take the test at least once before 12 noon of the Monday following the Module.
You will have 1 hour to complete the test.
You may take the test three times before the cut-off time.
Questions will vary each time you take the test.
Your highest score will count towards your course grade.
